Newport International Film Festival Screening

Traces of the Trade will be featured this week at the Newport International Film Festival.

There will be screenings of the film on Wednesday, June 4, at 3:00pm (Opera House 1), on Thursday, June 5, at 8:00pm (Jane Pickens Theater), and on Saturday, June 7, at 1:00pm (Opera House 1).

There will also be a book signing by family member Tom DeWolf, the author of Inheriting the Trade: A Northern Family Confronts Its Legacy as the Largest Slave-Trading Dynasty in U.S. History, on Wednesday, June 4 at 11:00am at the Redwood Library, 50 Bellevue Ave., Newport, R.I.

Finally, there will be a panel discussion on slavery and the slave trade in New England with family member James DeWolf Perry (Harvard University), James T. Campbell (Brown University), and Keith Stokes (Newport County Chamber of Commerce), on Friday, June 6, at 4:00pm at the Newport Colony House, Washington Square, Newport, R.I.
